Something Greater

Romans 12:2

Walkin’ down the street
No one ever stops and notices me.
I can hardly stand to be
just a face in the crowd.

Am I really worth somethin’?
I’ve been told that I am nothin’.
It’s such a big dark world. I’m such a small light.
And I wonder as I wander
Am I just part of this creation
or the start of something greater?

I wanna be more.
I wanna be loved.
I wanna be Yours.
I wanna be someone.
I wanna be safe.
I wanna be strong.
Don’t wanna be hurt by a world so wrong.

The air is so cold, my heart so weak.
Won’t You wrap Your arms around me?
But am I really worth somethin’?
I’ve been told that I am nothin’.
You said You’d always be here so where are You now?

And I wonder as I wander
Am I just part of Your creation
or the start of something greater?

I wanna be more.

I wanna be Yours.
I wanna be someone.
I wanna be safe.
I wanna be strong.
Don’t wanna be hurt by a world so wrong.

If You can hear me why aren’t you near me?
I’ve cried in the night
searching for Your light
wonderin’ if You’re there.
And it’s so hard
to feel so far
from Your arms.

I wanna be more.
I wanna be loved.
I wanna be Yours.
I wanna be someone.
With You I am safe.
Please help me stay strong.
I wanna do right in a world so wrong.
